Oaks Course
The Oaks Course at Heron Creek Golf & Country Club offers a memorable blend of strategic shot-making, mature oak-lined fairways, and scenic Florida wetlands. Designed by renowned golf course architect Arthur Hills, this championship nine challenges golfers of every skill level with risk-reward opportunities, well-protected greens, and beautiful natural surroundings. Whether played as part of the Oaks/Creek or Oaks/Marsh 18-hole combinations, the Oaks Course offers an enjoyable and rewarding golf experience in North Port, Florida.
HOLE 1
Course management and self control are the keys to success on this par 5. Direction, not distance, is important off the tee.
HOLE 2
Take dead aim. If you hit it long, you better hit it straight!
HOLE 3
Keep your tee shot in the center of the fairway. The green slopes from front to back left. Watch out for the deep bunker on the right!
HOLE 4
A beautiful par 3 hole. Don't be short or left. There is a lot of room to the right.
HOLE 5
Challenge the dogleg bunker for an open approach to this gently rolling green.
HOLE 6
Don't be fooled by the handicap on this treacherous one-shoter.
HOLE 7
Favor the left side of the hole to avoid the wetland right of the green.
HOLE 8
A big tee shot over the wetland will leave you with a wedge to the green. Anything long and left may result in a blind shot to the flagstick on this rather diminutive green. A 3-wood or long iron would be a safe play for the conservative player.
HOLE 9
Let the shaft out! A lengthy tee shot may leave you with the option of going for it. A wetland swallows up all shots short of the green.
